Abstract
569,852. Melting-pots. WHITEHEAD, E. G. March 24, 1943, No. 4784. [Class 82 (i)] A pot for melting the more readily fusible metals, such as brass, aluminium, or zinc base alloy, is madeof glass or comprises an inner vessel made of glass, and means are provided for supporting the glass. The pot may comprise an inner shell C, Fig. 1, of glass supported by a shell B of ferrous metal. Alternatively, the pot may consist of a glass shell C, Fig. 2, without an outer supporting shell, the glass being strengthened by metal reinforcement K embedded therein.
