Abstract

568,257. Loose-leaf binders. SMALLPEICE, C. D. P. May 6, 1944, No. 8623. Addition to 566,554. [Class 146 (i)] In a loose-leaf binder as described in the parent Specification, the backing strip is separate from the clips and has both edges turned back, preferably inwardly, and both edges of the clips are also turned back, preferably outwardly, to engage with the edges of the backing strip. As shown in Figs. 1 and 3, two or more clips 13 are joined together by a connecting strip 14, both edges of the clips and the outer edge of the strip being turned back to engage the turned-back edges of a separate backing strip 12. The strip 12 is applied by an endwise movement, the extent of which may be reduced by providing spaced gaps in the strip to allow the parts to be engaged first by a lateral movement.
