566,304. Ventilator cowls. SMITH, D. R. May 1, 1943, No. 6913. '[Class 25] Cowls of the elbow shape type, such as are used for the ventilation of ships, have the greater and upper part of their rear surface 1 or 6 constituted as a "ruled" surface or surfaces, i.e. formed with straight generating lines so that such part may be shaped by the process of cold bending of a plate. The greater and upper parts of the side surfaces 2 are of substantially plane form. The mouth of the cowl is trapezoidal or rectangular. The front surface at 9 is also "ruled." The lower portions of the sides and back terminate in conical portions 5 and a cylindrical part 7.
