Abstract

562,668. Window blinds. WILMOT-BREEDEN, Ltd., and SMYE, A. March 16, 1943, No. 4280. [Class 20 (iii)] Actuating mechanism for blinds particularly rear blinds of road vehicles comprises link k pivoted to .each free corner of the blind c, the other end of each link being pivoted to one of a pair of nuts which are of opposite threads and traverse the correspondingly threaded portion of a screwed shaft f rotated by an electric motor m. Portions of the nuts project through slots in a casing a which houses the shaft and which may also house the blind roller. A manually operated switch puts one or other of two opposed field windings into the motor circuit so that the motor is rotated in the appropriate direction and the motor is automatically switched out by another switch as the blind becomes fully drawn or fully rolled up.
