Abstract
562,087. Filters. ESCHER WYSS MASCHINENFABRIKEN AKT.-GES. May 15, 1942, No. 6628. Convention date, May 15, 1941. [Class 46] [Also in Groups II and XXII] Cylindrical screens or filters are formed of plates 4, Fig. 2, with slots 5 continuous throughout the length of the plates, and continued downwards into transverse struts 6 provided on the underside of the plates. The slotting may be done by milling or sawing, and the plates may be of metal or non-metallic substances such as hard rubber, artificial resins or pressed materials. The struts may be made in one piece with the plate or may be separate members secured thereto by screwing, welding or dovetailing. The plates are then bent into shape with the slots parallel to the axis, and the struts on the outside of the drum. The slots can be previously cut so as to have parallel or diverging sides in the finished drum. As shown in Fig. 6, the struts may have bores 11 which form a continuation of the slots, and one of the end struts may be so constructed that it can be screwed directly to a driving pulley.
