Abstract
561,707. Bed-pans. KINGDON, D. E, Nov. 16, 1942, No. 16172. [Class 26] A non-spillable urine bottle comprises a body 10 serving as a receptacle and having a substantially flat base, and an inlet tube 12 disposed wholly within an upper part of the body, inclined with respect to the bottom of said body and reaching across the body to deliver into the body in the region of the back thereof. The capacity.of the body part lying wholly beneath the delivery end of the inlet tube when the bottle is tilted on the corner 13 so as to lower the inlet entrance is not less than the capacity which exists wholly beneath said delivery end of the inlet tube in the normal position of the bottle, so that the contents will not be spilled if the bottle is accidentally tilted in the said manner. The inner part of the inlet tube may be tapered inwardly, as shown, or the said part may be angularly by offset with respect to its portion contained in the neck 11 of the bottle, provision then being made to allow the tube to be rocked slightly in passing into and out of the bottle. The outer end of the inlet tube may be provided with a closure such as a shutter flap hinged at the top and secured at the bottom by a hinged bolt with a thumb-screw.
