[Class 45] [Also in Group X] A runway for aerodromes &c., is formed from flat sheets of heavy, rectangular-meshed steel fabric of which some or all of the wires project beyond the edge of the sheet a distance not less than the pitch of the mesh in the same direction, these projecting parts 3 being cranked and adapted, when the sheets are placed close together, to lie below at least two wires of an adjacent sheet and thereby prevent lifting. Welded fabric may be used. Dimensions are given. Specification 559,457 is referred to.
