558,728. Inductances. PLESSEY CO., Ltd. Jan. 14, 1943, No. 737. Convention date, March 19, 1942. [Class 38 (ii)] In a variable inductance comprising a rota able coil of bare conductor 19 engaged by a contact 31 which slides along a trolley rod 30, as it is displaced by rotation of the coil a stop member 32 of moulded insulating material is mounted on a guide rod 29 so as to be carried along by the contact 31, the ends of the stop member being adapted to engage radially projecting lugs 23 on metallic end caps 20, 21 to which the ends of the coil are connected. The end caps co-operate with brushes 26, 28 connected respectively to a terminal 24 and to one of a pair of end plates carrying the trolley rod 30 and guide rod 29.
