Abstract

558,295. Diamond &c. tools. MEESON, E. L., and MEESON, J. 1. June 26, 1942, No. 8777. [Class 124] In a diamond or like tool for dressing grinding wheels and the like, the slug 9 carrying the diamond is firmly clamped in a holder 2 in any one of a plurality of differently inclined positions by relative axial movement between the holder and a member 4 carried thereby. The member 4 is carried loosely by a forwardly projecting central part 5 of the holder 2, the member 4 and the part 5 being formed with registering recesses 6, 8 which together form differently inclined longitudinally divided sockets for the slug 9. The relative axial movement of the holder 2 and member 4 is effected by means of a nut 10 having a flange 12 which is sprung over a flange 11 on the member 4. This nut 10 is screwed on to a flange 3 on the holder 2, and a fibre or like washer 13 is arranged between the nut 10 and the member 4.
