557,400. Hypodermic syringe covers. ROCHE PRODUCTS, Ltd., and WIRTH, P. H. A. July 1, 1942, No. 9119. [Class 81 (ii)] An hermetically sealed protective cover for a hypodermic syringe unit of the kind comprising a collapsable container 10 on which the needle 12 is mounted, consists of a polystyrene, celluloid &c. case, one portion 2 of which engages the region 11 of the unit, where the needle 12 joins the collapsable container 10, another portion 3 of which surrounds and protects the needle and a third portion 1 of which surrounds the collapsable container 10. The cover is sealed by a metal &c. capsule 7 which is provided with a tear-off strip. The portion 1 of the cover is provided with internal stiffening ribs. The needle is provided with a stylet 14 furnished with a protective disc of cork &c. 13.
