Abstract

555,370. Board games. FIRTH, C. E. May 7, 1942, No. 6135. [Class 132 (ii)] Apparatus for playing board games comprises a board representing the playing area and marked with differently coloured squares and/or circles 9 to denote the opposing teams for either or both association and rugby football, and a disc or counter, Fig. 4, to represent the ball, the disc or counter being marked on each side with different coloured segments 7 to denote the colours of the opposing teams and to indicate the places at which a propellng disc must be applied. The coloured segments are also marked on each side with one, or two, dots 8 to determine the number of consecutive "kicks" allowed to the player. Goal posts either of the association or rugby type are inserted in holes 4, and in accordance with the rules of the game the players endeavour to project the "ball" through the goal or over the cross bar. Behind the goal lines are a number of coloured shapes 10 to denote "dead ball", "corner" or "try". Some of the coloured shapes 9 may be marked "Foul", "Offside" or in other terms used in the game.
