[Class 44] [Also in Group XVII] A receptacle for table tennis' and other playing balls adapted to permit withdrawal one at a time, comprises a wood back 1 and a D-section front 2 of transparent material such as celluloid or synthetic resin apertured at 7 to give access to the front and sides of the lowest ball, which rests in a hollow and in a base 6. The ball is removed by gripping it and withdrawing it. A plug lid 10, locking bar 11 and padlock 12 prevent unauthorized removal. Modified forms include a container of triangular section, an aperture in one face permitting withdrawal of the lowermost ball. When this face is opaque sight openings are provided. In another form the front aperture is smaller than the ball and this rests on a resilient foot of celluloid or spring metal which gives when the ball is drawn outwards. In a further form the front portion only'of the base is flexible and the base has side wings which hold the lowermost ball laterally. In another form the cup of Fig. 1 is constituted by lateral and front wings on the base. In a further modification a resilient tongue projecting downwardly from member 2 over the front aperture prevents accidental release of the lowest ball. In a modification of the base shown in Fig. 1 the front aperture is obturated by a D- section slide which can move downwards in grooves in the back.
