Abstract

551,524. Sulphonamide compounds. HAWORTH, E., ROSE, F. L., and IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. July 22, 1941, No. 9245. [Class 2 (iii)] Sulphanilyl-guanidine is obtained by heating dicyandiamide with a 4-acylaminobenzenesulphonamide and removing the acyl group. The acyl group is derived from a lower saturated fatty acid. Examples are given in which 4-acetylaminobenzenesulphonamide is either fused, or heated in ethylene glycol, with dicyandiamide and the product hydrolysed with hydrochloric acid.
