Abstract
550,928. Toys. GILDERSON, A. A. July 26, 1941, No. 9534. [Class 132 (iii)] A toy or model construction apparatus comprises a plurality of separate secondary flat pieces each having a pair or group of holes, a primary flat piece having a series of pairs or groups of holes and one or more draw cords adapted to be threaded through such holes, such cord or each cord serving to draw up and hold against the primary pieces two or more of the secondary pieces, the holes in which are so related to the holes in the primary piece that when the secondary pieces are strung up to the primary piece a predetermined figure or representation is produced. As shown, the primary piece 1 is a flat disc representing the body of a figure and having a series of holes arranged radially. The head and limbs are the secondary pieces and are strung to the body by a cord having a threading tag 8 and a cross tag 9. The head piece and arm pieces may be in edge contact so that movement of any one, after the cord has been tightened, will move the others. Sets of primary and secondary pieces may be used interchangeably. The primary piece may constitute a background or stage for the secondary pieces, or a number of primary pieces may be strung to a background, each carrying a number of secondary pieces. The holes may be in the form of slots.
