Abstract
549,686. Linear-dimension gauges. NICHOLS, J. R., and KILISZEK, S. R. May 29, 1941, No. 6871. [Class 106 (ii)] The blades c, c' fit into slots a in the frame b and may be adjusted by screws e, e<SP>1</SP> engaging tapped holes f, f<SP>1</SP> and disposed at an acute angle to the base of the slot a. When adjusted, the blades are clamped by screws d passing through slots h in the blades. The space g may be then filled with sealing material. In a modification, the body b carries top and bottom blades forming a " go " and " no go " gauge, or one blade may be stepped to give the " go " and " no go " dimensions with two blades only. Fig. 5 illustrates an internal gauge. In a last form, there are top and bottom blades at one end and a fixed blade at the other end of the body.
