Abstract

549,347. Colour comparators. BIBBY & SONS, Ltd., J., and MANN, T. B. April 24, 1942, No. 5497. [Class 97 (i)] Means for supporting one of a series of comparison members and a receptacle for a sample are so arranged that the comparison member and the receptacle, when in use, have contiguous edges and one of them surrounds or substantially surrounds the other. As shown, a cylindrical receptacle 3 is formed in a plate 1 supported by edges 2, and an annular recess 4 houses an annular comparison member 5 having an inner diameter equal to that of the uper edge of the receptacle; recesses 6 facilitate removal of the member 5. The apparatus may' be used for comparing the colour of egg yolks with numbered members 5: of eight or more different shades of yelow and orange, or for other purposes.
