Abstract

549,185. Boat hulls &c. JOHNSTONE, L. W. Oct. 23, 1941. No. 13624. [Class 113 (ii)] A hard skinned boat or float is made by uniting narrow metal strips some of which are bent torsionally to provide the desired contours. Fig. 13 shows a form in which Z strips, joggled at 4, have the limbs 1a, 1b respectively welded together to form inner and outer skins, the intermediate parts 1c of the strips forming distance pieces. The sections so formed may be directly welded to each other, or connected by angle pieces 19, 20, 21, Fig. 15.
