[Class 27] Relates to a cabinet for storing and vending oil and other liquids as described in Specification 500,744, in which oil is delivered by a pump 18 from a tank 19 through key-controlled taps 15 to various-sized measures A .. F, each measure being enclosed in a separate compartment 5 closed by a sliding door 11. According to the present invention each door 11 is normally locked but is freed when a coin or check is inserted in a corresponding slot 27, a separate slot and shoot 30 being provided for each compartment 5, and each check after freeing its door passing down its shoot to the corresponding compartment of a till or drawer 37. Thus, the checks found in the till constitute a reward of each oil measure sold, i.e. so many pints, quarts, &c. of each grade of oil. Each check, as it passes down its shoot actuates a corresponding lever 36 which releases a cam 35 and allows a spring to lift a detent 34 and release a door catch 33 to allow the door 11 to be raised. When the measure has been emptied and replaced the door is automatically relocked until released by another check or coin. The keys for opening the oil taps 14 are inserted through keyholes 12 and can only be inserted when the doors are closed. Coin-slit closing devices.-A sliding shutter 28 controlled by a lock 32 is arranged behind the coin slots 27 and is formed with one slot for each coin slot, so that when the shutter is in one position all the coin slots are open and when in another position they are all closed.
