Abstract

548,113. Electric resistance furnaces. BIRMINGHAM ELECTRIC FURNACES, Ltd., and KERFOOT, F. March 22, 1941, No. 3918. [Class 39 (iii)] Resistors c in an electric furnace are supported from the walls by means of deformable hooks projecting inwards. The stem a is notched at a<SP>1</SP> to facilitate bending over when passed through a hole in the furnace lining as in Specification '285,147 [Class 39 (iii)]. The inner end of the stem is bent back on itself twice as shown, so that the resistor can be inserted and the part b<SP>2</SP> bent over it to retain it. The loops may be close to the furnace lining since the resistor is inserted by a movement towards the lining.
