Abstract

547,976. Sulphonamido compounds. NEPERA CHEMICAL CO., Inc. Feb. 3, 1941, No. 1395. Convention date, Aug. 17, 1940. [Class 2 (iii)] p - Aminobenzenesulphonamido - pyrimidine and its derivatives are prepared by treating p-acetylaminobenzenesulphonyl chloride with an aminopyrimidine and hydrolysing with dilute alkali. The products possess therapeutic properties. Examples are given of the preparation of the pyrimidine compound from 2-aminopyrimidine and of its 4-methyl- and 4:6- dimethyl derivatives. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes the preparation of 6- sulphanilamidopyrimidine by reducing the condensation product of p-nitrobenzenesulphonyl chloride with 6-aminopyrimidine. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 555,865, and 644,702.
