Abstract
547,649. Control systems for lamps. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Nov. 14, 1941, No. 14674. Convention date, Nov. 14, 1940. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXVI] Resistance control.-In an illumination system having means for independent setting of lighting intensities of a number of lamp circuits 1, 2, as for example in Specification 538,575, and wherein potentiometers 9, 10 determine the voltage to be applied to voltage responsive means 3, 4 operating lamp controllers as in Specification 538,576, fading means such as a further potentiometer 11 being connected between two voltage controlling means so that the lighting intensity of a circuit may be progressively changed from one preset value to another, alternative mechanical means for operating the fading means at differing speeds may be selectively brought into action. A hand lever 16 may operate a sliding contact 11a along a potentiometer resistance 11 constituting the fading means or, by tilting it about an axis 17, 18, one lever may be engaged alternatively with a fork 21 or 22 whereby it is moved by mechanism 26 which may be operated by an electric motor 25. The forks are each frictionally driven from shafts 23, 24 respectively at different speeds and in directions determined by suitable energization of the motor. Several such fading means may be arranged in association with a common driving means.
