544,741. Glass manufacture. GARBISCH, N. S. Oct. 21, 1940, No. 15518. Convention date, Nov. 29, 1939. [Class 56] A batch for use in the manufacture of glass comprises 65-80 per cent. of silica, 12-20 per cent. of calcium oxide, and 10-20 per cent. of alkali metal compound, at least 50 per cent. of the silica being derived from sand which has been used for grinding plate glass and been freed from iron, as described in Specification 510,241. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 532,061.
