Abstract

544,650. Mixing-apparatus. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO., E. I. Oct. 18, 1940, No. 15424. Convention date, Oct. 19. 1939. [Class 86] Viscous materials are mixed by a pair of parallel worms rotating in opposite directions and each with half its length of opposite pitch to the other half and to the corresponding half of the other worm. As shown, the starting points 6, 8 of the right halves 2, 4 may be opposite the starting points 5, 7 of the left halves; in another form the starting points 5, 6 and 7, 8 respectively coincide. The ends of the worms may be of zero pitch and provided with grooves &c. to work the material against the ends of the container.
