[Class 106 (iv)] In a watchman's tell-tale clock apparatus having a single aperture for the insertion of keys suspended at the different stations, the keys have a uniform cross section throughout the length of the bit but the ends of the cross section are of differing shape to prevent the key from being inserted except in one position. The clock movement is provided in a clock A provided with a handle a<SP>1</SP> and a spindle a<SP>3</SP> carrying a plate a<SP>4</SP> on which is positioned a paper disc B one side of which bears the hour numerals while the other has radial and circumferential lines on which the key or plunger impressions are obtained by means of a carbon disc placed between the disc B and the plate a<SP>4</SP>. A casing C is adapted to be locked on the clock and is provided with a slot c<SP>11</SP> to receive the key. A guide c<SP>8</SP> of substantial thickness is positioned over the slot c<SP>11</SP> and has a registering slot covered by a rubber strip c<SP>12</SP> slit to permit the passage of the key. The keys D are suspended by chains d<SP>2</SP> at the various stations and are provided with a mark d<SP>5</SP> the position, on the end of the key, of which differs with each station. The keys D have bits d<SP>3</SP> of sufficient length to fit and be supported accurately in the slots in the guide c' and case C. A leather case E, Fig. 11, with a window e<SP>2</SP> and an opening e<SP>1</SP> for the key is provided for' suspending from the watchman.
