543,111. Electrodes. BAKER PLATINUM, Ltd., and JAMES, D. Nov. 20, 1940, and Oct. 9, 1941. Nos. 16705/40 and 13054/41. [Class 41] Electrodes, for instance platinum electrodes for the estimation of copper by electro-deposition and, of the kind consisting of a gauze or perforated cylindrical member carried by a support consisting of spaced annular members carried at the lower end of a supporting stem, are formed from one or more blanks of metal with a minimum number of welding operations. The form shown before welding in Fig. 8 and complete in Fig. 13 is produced from one blank by operation yielding the appearance before bending of Fig. 5, and from a second blank affording the lower annular and spacing member 9, welding at points 10, 11, and to close the small rings 8 which serve as guides for the stem of the other electrode being necessary. A similar result may be achieved employing a single blank only, by operations to produce the appearance in the flat of Fig. 11, this form being then bent and welded at points A-D, Fig. 12.
