Abstract
543,106. Electron-multipliers. BOSCH, F. J. G. VAN DEN, and VACUUM-SCIENCE PRODUCTS, Ltd. Aug. 9, 1940, No. 12806. Addition to 516,621. [Class 39 (i)] In secondary electron emitting electrodes as described in the parent Specification, the depressions in which the holes are provided are formed contiguous so as to cover the whole surface of the electrode. The depressions 13 may be of polygonal form, preferably hexagonal, triangular or rectangular, or of curved form with the margins of adjacent depressions intersecting. The holes 14 are circular and their margins merge gradually into the straight walls of the depressions. The electrodes may be in the form of discs or cylindrical plates, and the depressions are disposed relatively to the supporting members, such as 9, so that they may be staggered in successive electrodes.
