[Classes 20 (i) and 107] [Also in Group XXXIII] A device for use as an obstruction for enemy planes, as a defence post, particularly on landing grounds, or as part of a temporary runway comprises two or more hinged flat metal sheets the outside edges of which are bent or flanged to compensate for the thickness of the hinged portion when used as part of a temporary runway. The device may be erected on edge and two or more such units may be used in combination as shown in Fig. 4. Spaced firing slots may be provided in the sheets. A roof may be added, preferably diagonally hinged so as to be adaptable for covering a single two-sheet unit, a single three-sheet unit, two two-sheet units &c., a single three-sheet unit being so covered as shown in Fig. 6. The units may be fixed to the ground or form a permanent part of aircraft runways ; a number erected end to end may form a temporary runway over swampy ground. Wheels may be provided on the device.
