Abstract
542,110. Purifying latex. RUBBERSTICHTING. Nov. 7, 1940, No. 16198. Convention date, Oct. 30, 1939. [Class 70] Latex of rubber, gutta-percha, balata &c. is purified by alkali treatment preferably at boiling temperature and the insoluble metallic and other compounds precipitated by the alkali are removed by settling or centrifuging ; preferably in an atmosphere of nitrogen. The latex may be further purified by dialysis as described in Specification 521,436.
