A cardboard &c. box 3 has a bent up cardboard support 6, 7 for glass &c. strips 8 that are retained in place by adhesive and the edges of the paper &c. covering 9 of the box which is fitted with a detachable lid The abrasive surface may be formed directly on the parts 6 which may then be of laminated material. The blade may be moved over the hone by a block shaped to be gripped in the fingers and having studs to enter the holes in the blade. The hone may be in the form of a channelled block the box being dispensed with.
