Abstract
539,650. Fire-extinguishing. PEACE, S. J., and WARING, A. June 25, 1940, No. 10841. [Class 47 (ii)] A device for use in extinguishing incendiary bombs comprises a container 1 with a false bottom 2 in the form of a pair of flaps normally held in place by a pin 3. Sand is contained in the upper compartment into which the bomb is placed, and the flaps are opened to allow the bomb with the sand to fall to the bottom of the container. The flaps may be spring-controlled so that, after depositing the sand, they will be returned to their closed position.
