Abstract

537,528. Road - scarifiers. GREEN & SON, Ltd., T., KNIGHT, F. B., and OWEN, W. A. Feb. 7, 1940, No. 2391. [Class 107] The tool-holder 2 of a road-scarifier is connected to a double-acting piston 5 the supply of pressure-fluid to either side of which, for adjusting the depth of cut of the tool 3, is controlled by a manually-operated valve 8. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the tool-holder 2 is arranged to slide vertically with the piston-rod 4. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which the holder 2, pivoted at 22 to the piston-rod, is arranged to swing about a fixed pivot 21 on the roller-chassis.
