[Class 102 (ii)] Apparatus for directing a cleansing liquid against a surface includes a receptacle in which the liquid is aerated and from which the aerated liquid is discharged by compressed air, the liquid being aerated within a mixing chamber at the discharge end of the air inlet pipe. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 4, the diametrally opposed compressed air inlet pipe 2 and the liquid outlet pipe 3 extend from the top nearly to the bottom of a receptacle 1, the outlet pipe 3 being connected to a hose pipe 9 which may be fitted with a nozzle and which may be wound on a reel 10. The inlet pipe 2 is connected by a coupling 21, with an injector nozzle 22, to a mixing chamber 20 having one or more liquid inlet ports 24 behind the nozzle, the mixture being delivered by a pipe 23. The receptacle 1 has a draining opening 19 and a filling opening which is left open during aeration of the liquid and which is closed, by a plug 16 having an air release cock 18<SP>1</SP>, during a temporary cutting off of the compressed air. The apparatus is mounted on a wheeled platform 34 having a hinged handle 36. In modifications, two reels 10 accommodate a pair of hoses 9 connected to a single outlet pipe 3, the pipes 2, 3 are connected to the bottom of the receptacle, the compressed air is supplied by a handoperated pump on the apparatus, and the apparatus is supported by a legged frame which rests on the ground. As shown in Fig. 5, the hose may be connected by a coupling 26, having a control valve 27, to a tubular brush handle 25 which is connected to a brush head 31 the bristles 32 of which surround a central discharge nozzle 33. Alternatively, a number of discharge nozzles may be arranged circumferentially within the bristles.
