536,510. Yeast. STANDARD BRANDS, Inc. April 5, 1940, No. 6197. Convention date, June 10, 1939. [Class 14 (ii)] The activity and growth of yeast suitable for baking purposes are increased by allowing yeast act at about 30‹ C. on a nutrient medium containing sugar or assimilable carbohydrate, nutrient inorganic salts such as those of ammonia, phosphorus, lime, potash and magnesium, aspartic acid, inositol, calcium pantothenate or #-alanine, crystalline thiamin, biotic acid and vitamin B 6 . Compounds of the following elements may be present : thallum, zinc, manganese, boron, iron, copper and iodine.
