Abstract

[Class 16] [Also in Group XXV] A screw threaded clamping-device for binding-posts for loose leaf ledgers &c.' comprises a headed sleeve a with a blind bore tapped to receive a screw threaded sleeve i loosely mounted on the reduced end of a bolt member d having a milled head e the sleeve and bolt having clutch teeth h that permit screwing up only. A spring washer may be placed between the sleeve and the retaining head j. The head may have a nick for a screw driver and this may also be shaped to permit screwing-up only. Holes may be provided in the head for engagement by a pin spanner and these may lead into inclined arcuate slots on one side to prevent unscrewing. A round head having a sharp edge that cannot be gripped by pliers may be used, the heads may be conical to engage countersunk holes.
