Abstract

535,257. Moulding electrical condenser casings. HUNT, Ltd., A. H. Sept. 30, 1939. No. 26954. Convention date, Oct. 1, 1938. [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A number of rolled condenser units with projecting end wires are encased with a uniform layer of wax in a two-part mould. A row of units 1 are first held with their terminal wires 23 gripped in spaced notches 13 in the lower of pairs of slide members 11, 21 of a frame, the units being spaced centrally from the frame by the insertion of a slotted U-shaped figure before assembly. The frames are then placed over the lower half 40 of a mould which has semi-cylindrical surfaces so that these are concentric with the condenser units. Wax is then poured in and a similar upper half 50 of the mould forced down. After chilling, the encased units are removed and a protective paper or tubular layer applied. The mould surfaces may taper slightly to one end.
