Abstract

534,892. Display boxes. WESTMINSTER LABORATORIES, Ltd., and BROOK, S. June 23, 1939, No. 18389. [Class 18] A box is provided with one or more apertures 6, 7, 8 in one of its walls and with at least two flexible metal tongues 2, 3, 4 which can lie in the aperture or apertures and be bent at any point along their length to form supports to hold the box in different positions. The tongues may be used as struts as shown, may be bent to lie in parallel planes to form a clip to grip a shelf &c., may be bent intermediately of their length, may have holes to receive pins by which the box may be suspended, may be bent inwards instead of outwards to hold the lid open, or may be bent to hold the contents. The container may be made of metal or the tongues may be formed in a metal plate inserted in or attached to the box to form a false bottom. A number of boxes may be connected together by plates engaging in apertures 26. The boxes may be made from synthetic material, e.g. that known by the Registered Trade Mark " Bakelite " is mentioned.
