Abstract

534,377. Mixing powdered materials. NIELSEN, N. Feb. 13, 1940, No. 2772. [Class 86] Powdered materials which h a v e been rendered fluent as by air currents are mixed by means of one or more propellers which produce a circulation of the materials. As shown in Fig. 1, which shows a silo for cement raw meal, the material is rendered fluent by air currents from valves 3, 4, 8, 9 and is circulated by a propeller 25. Propellers may project from the side of the silo, or may be arranged in apertures in a partition. They may also be arranged to produce a circulation through conduits within, or without, the silo. Specification 439,819, [Group XVIII], and U.S.A. Specification 1,291,137 are referred to.
