[Classes 98 (i) and 98 (ii)] In a studio arrangement in which the camera is concealed from the sitter by a transparent or semi-transparent mirror, such as a plain or lightly-metallized glass plate, around which may be arranged pose-reflecting mirrors and devices for illuminating the sitter, the concealing mirror forms the front wall of a dark box, and the camera is mounted on the back of the rear wall, which has an aperture in front of the camera lens. As shown, the camera 1 is carried by a bracket 2 on a panel 3 adjustable vertically on a panel 9 itself adjustable horizontally across an opening in a wall 16 between which and a wall 20 extends the dark box 18 closed at its front by the transparent or semi-transparent mirror 19. Apertures are formed in the panels 3, 9 in front of the lens 3 and finder 7. Mirrors 23 for pose-reflecting or illuminating the sitter are hinged vertically or universally on each side of the mirror 19, and diffusing screens 21, 22, with lamps behind them are arranged above and below it. Wing mirrors 24 with smooth or grooved surfaces may be mounted on the screen 21 to supplement the illumination. The lens 3 is focused by rotating an arm 55 over a scale and this arm may be controlled by the position of the sitter's stool, as by a connecting cable. The shutter may be of the everset type, and the camera may have a repeating back. Specification 456,479 is referred to.
