529,828. Containers for ribbon &c. CASH, Ltd., J. & J., and KIRBY, H. June 9, 1939, No. 16904. [Class 18] Tape, ribbon and like strip material, e.g. tape bearing woven names or initials, is stored on a reel rotatable in a container, of drawer- and-shell type, and which has an exit slot and may exert a braking effect on the withdrawal. In the example shown a slot a<SP>1</SP> is provided in the drawer and friction is exerted on the reel flange by the container. A spring may also be employed for braking. When a hinged lid is used the slot is in one wall of the body; if the lid has a flange such flange may have an openended slot registering with a slot in the body.
