[Class 146 (i)] In a filing tray comprising a body portion with bottom 2, Fig. 1, side-walls 3, and an end-wall 8 hinged at its lower end to an end of said bottom, the end-wall 8 comprises a pair of sheet metal sections 9, 10 flanged at the edges, the flanges 15, Fig. 6, of the one fitting the flanges 21 of the other and spacing the sections apart to enclose two vertical channel members 22, one at the edge of each side to provide a rigid wall structure. A retainer member 24, Fig. 4, moves in cut-out guideways formed in the outside of the channels 22 next to the outer metal section 9. The retainer 24 has lateral extensions 25 on its ends which are in line with the side-walls 3 of the tray, and are virtual extensions of them. Projections 26, 27 and a cam 30 on the extensions 25 coact with shoulders 5 on the side-walls 3, a spring 32 being provided between the flange 16 on the section 10, and a flange 31 on the member 24. A strip 33 is attached to the member 24 and has its other end bent over to form a handle 34 whereby the retainer may be depressed and the end 8 tilted or returned to the vertical. A handle is formed at the end by rolling the section 9 over a bar 12 and stamping a hole out beneath, the release handle 34 for the retainer member 24 projecting into the handle aperture.
