Abstract

527,916. Pulling loads off vehicles. MIAG MUHLENBAU UND INDUSTRIE AKT.- GES. March 18, 1939, No. 8700. Convention date, March 18, 1938. [Class 78 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXII] A device for emptying motor lorries, railway wagons, and like vehicles carrying beetroots and like plants comprises two lateral cables connected by crossbars f...f<SP>4</SP> and adapted to be pulled along the floor towards an outlet at the end of the vehicle by a rope or chain g. As shown the cross-bars are inter-connected by two sets of cable elements d<SP>1</SP>, d<SP>4</SP>, the elements d<SP>2</SP>, d<SP>3</SP>, d<SP>4</SP> inter-connecting the bars f<SP>1</SP> ... f<SP>4</SP> being approximately twice as long as the elements d', interconnecting the bars f, f<SP>1</SP>. When the device is placed initially on the vehicle floor, the elements d<SP>2</SP>, d<SP>3</SP>, d<SP>4</SP> are folded and the bars arranged at equal distances apart. To discharge the contents, a hauling cable g is hooked in a ring e connecting the elements d and is pulled by a slow-running motor so that the contents are gradually delivered over an end flap b on to a conveyer belt c. The innermost cross-bar f<SP>4</SP> is of angular section to serve as a scavenging bar or scoop.
