Abstract

527,664. Coated fabrics. BOLOGNESI, G. April 18, 1939, Nos. 11709 and 11710. Convention dates, April 18, 1938, and Oct. 12, 1938. [Class 140] [Also in Group IV] Regenerated cellulose sheets, tubes, rings, or the like are obtained by dipping a form or mould into successive solutions of cellulose of decreasing viscosity, the viscosity of one solution being about 3 times that of the one which follows it, and then into a single coagulating bath. The cellulose solution may be deposited by dipping upon a sheet of paper or fabric which remains incorporporated in the regenerated cellulose sheet. Applications of cotton, flax, wool, silk, hemp, asbestos, or artificial silk fibres may be made between successive coatings of cellulose solution. One or more of the cellulose solutions may contain talc, titanium dioxide, metal powder, or fibres. The amount of filler may be such as to impart a rough surface. The rings or tubes may be used for covering or lining parts of machinery or for covering cardboard tubes used in spinning or weaving processes. Specification 276,206, [Class 2 (ii)], is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the partial coagulation of each layer of cellulose solution before application of another layer. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
