Abstract

526,839. Dextrin. I.G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES. March 25, 1939, No. 9420. Convention date, March 26, 1938. [Class 121] Non-reducing, water-soluble dextrin preparations for use as sizes, textile-finishes and printing pastes are prepared by treating a carbohydrate of the starch group (starch, inulin, amyloses, British gum &c.) in solution or suspension in water or methyl alcohol with hydrogen together with a catalyst at 20-40 atmospheres and at 100-180‹C. till the material no longer reduces Fehling's solution.
