Abstract
526,634. Making plates and sheets. COPELAND-CHATTERSON CO., Ltd.. and MANN, A. March 23, 1939, No. 9193. [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] Welded joints.-Panels for use in rotary display and record stands for carrying tabulated and other forms of record or information are formed from a sheet of light metal C such as of aluminium which is mounted in a welded chanelled steel frame A, the sheet being formed with notches C<SP>1</SP> or apertures C<SP>2</SP> at or near its edges so that the interior faces of the channel members may be spot-welded together through these notches &c. in order to secure the sheet. The channel is narrow near the edge of the sheet so as to grip it and widens out so as to leave a space for the insertion of the edges of a record strip &c. In order to avoid the formation of depressions in the frame members at the welding spots, the notches &c. may be previously filled with small pieces of steel. The channel a receives a steel wire B projecting at its ends to serve as pivots for the panel.
