Abstract
523,104. Nozzles. BYSON APPLIANCE CO., Ltd., and HARRISON, E. Dec. 23, 1938, Nos. 37396 and 2696/39. [Class 69 (iii)] [Also in Group IV] A nozzle for a fire hose has its inner bore at the outlet end parallel or substantially parallel and joining the preceding part in a step c which may be undercut, facing the outflowing liquid. The body a may be of synthetic resin preferably rag filled and moulded around a metal bush b provided with a flange e to engage the moulding and a flange d to protect its end. In a modification a threaded ring may be moulded in the body into which the bush screws and fins may be formed in the body to prevent whirl. These fins may either be moulded in the body or form part of a metal lining. The nozzle may be wholly of moulded material and provided with a multistart screw thread between which and a similar collar the hose may be clamped.
