[Class 27] In a coin-freed articledelivery apparatus having a series of containers for articles, delivery mechanism associated with each container and operable by a plunger moved by the purchaser, and a changegiving device associated with and operable by each plunger, each changegiving device comprises a plurality of open-bottom coin-containers 82, any or all of which may be filled, a stationary plate 80 below the containers and having openings 86 out of register with the containers, and a movable plate 84 located between the containers and the stationary plate and provided with openings 85 adapted, as shown, in the normal position to register with the openings 86 and in another position with the containers. The plate 84 is preferably a rotary disc mounted on a spindle 87 and biased to the position shown by a spring 90. When coins are inserted in the machine and a plunger is pulled out to deliver an article a lug on the plunger engages an arm 89 on the spindle 87 and rotates the disc 84 through 45 degrees so that the holes 85 register with the coin containers 82 and each hole is filled by a coin. When the plunger is returned the spring 90 rotates the disc back until the holes 85, 86 are in register when the change coins drop through the plate 80 to a delivery plate.
