521,174. Rolling. ROHDE, P. Nov. 11, 1938, No. 32807. Convention date, Dec. 3, 1937. [Class 83 (iv)] Continuous hot rolling of wire is performed in a sequence of roll passes shaped entirely of circular arcs struck from centres above and below the pass line respectively, in effect, flattening the height of the pass but making the horizontal width of a pass equal to the height of the preceding pass, e.g. in Fig. 3, the horizontal width b equals the height b of the previous pass, but its height c is less than this.
