519,234. Prepayment meters. CHAMBERLAIN & HOOKHAM, Ltd., and JAMES, S. Oct. 6, 1938. No. 28964. [Class 27] The casing of a prepayment electricity meter has separate compartments and c for the current measuring and prepayment mechanisms, and' either separate covers for the two compartments, or, as shown, a single cover g having a portion h adapted to give access to and permit removal of the prepayment mechanism without exposing the current measuring mechanism. The partition between the compartments is in two halves d, one secured to the body a of the casing and the other to the main portion g of the cover, a gap e between the two halves accommodating a wheel f interconnecting the current measuring and prepayment mechanisms. The casing is preferably formed with the compartment b narrower than the compartment c, the coin receptacle being secured under the compartment c and lying alongside the compartment b. The cover purtion h is hinged at i to the main cover g, and secured in position by a sliding bolt n held against removal by engagement with an abutment p on the coin receptacle.
