[Class 40 (iii)] A printing telegraph receiver has means for making a record for subsequent re-transmission comprising code discs mounted for rotation with the type-wheel and selector members cooperating with the code discs to operate punches or other recording members. The shaft 1 carrying the type-wheel has fitted to it a number of code discs 2 of which two only are shown. At each printing operation the printing bail 3 depresses a frame 7, pivoted on a shaft 8, by means of an arm 4 and link 6. The outer ends of selector members 10 carried on a pin 9 fixed to the frame 7 are therefore depressed. Each selector member co-operates at its other end with an individual code disc 2 and if this latter end is held by a projection on its code disc the depression of its outer end causes its punch 12 to be forced through a paper tape 18. If it is not held by a projection of its code disc, a selector member 10 pivots about its point of connection 17 with its punch and the latter is not operated. The tape is fed forward after each punching operation by a feed wheel 21 rotated by a feed pawl 14 itself actuated by the arm 4 on the printing bail 3. The invention is suitable for use with a printer of the kind described in Specification 468,839, [Group XVI].
