518,350. Coating tubes. TRAUT, R. Sept. 17, 1938, No. 27203. Convention date, Nov. 24, 1937. [Class 95] Apparatus for coating metal tubes by immersion, with a bituminous protective coating, comprises two contiguous tanks a, b, through which the tubes are guided in succession by means of toothed conveyer discs e, f, mounted on horizontal shafts c, d, a shaft p, carrying cams q, and rotating synchronously with the shafts c, d, acting as a feed device for the tubes s. The shoots g, h are inclined so that the tubes' s lie at an inclination in the conveyor discs. Rails i, k, heating tubes m, and a hood r may be provided. Specified coating materials are pit-coal asphalt and petroleum bitumen.
